This note will allow you to setup your dmAnswers14 service, and configure it so calls are answered the way you want them to be.
It assumes you are setting up dmAnswers14 on a dmConnect number. If you already have a dmConnect number you can add dmAnswers14 by following this guide. If you bought dmAnswers14 directly you'll set it up on the bundled dmConnect number.
A note for dmSwitchboard12 users
dmSwitchboard12 users should contact support to get dmAnswers14 on one or more of their extensions.

- Knowledge that dmAnswers14 is a configurable answering service

Theory
dmAnswers14 is a human answering service that can be configured to field calls to your number (FrontDesk) and take messages (MessageDesk), with calls answered in your company name using a greeting you write and have control over. You can select to use either FrontDesk, MessageDesk, or both at the same time.
FrontDesk
Using FrontDesk your calls go straight through to one of our agents, who will answer the calls for you. They handle the call according to the instructions you set in preferences.
It’s like having a PA answering your calls for you.
MessageDesk
MessageDesk is for when you are unable to answer a call. Instead of the call going through to voicemail, MessageDesk will answer the call for you, and take the callers details and a message.
Pre-requisites
- A dmConnect12 number
- A computer capable of accessing the internet
- Your clubhouse login (as the clubhouse is your starting point)
Setup data

Step 1: Login to your clubhouse
Go to http://my.dmclub.net and login to yout clubhouse.
Step 2: Open the dmConnect control panel
a) Click on the icon for your dmConnect12 number to open its control panel.
Step 3: Activate FrontDesk
If you want a dmAnswers14 agent to field your calls (like a PA) do the following.
a) In the control panel go to the Divert tab (1)
b) Select Medium (2)
c) Check the FrontDesk checkbox (3)
d) A button labelled dmAnswers14 Console will appear on the right (4). This allows you to lauch the console, which is where you set your call answering preferences. This is covered in a separate note #1124 dmAnswers14: Setting your preferences. Skip this for now.
e) Click Save (5)
Step 4: Activate MessageDesk
If you want your calls to be answersed by a dmAnswers14 agent when you are unavailable, instead of going to voicemail, do the following.
a) In the control panel go to the Divert tab (1)
b) Select Medium (2)
c) In the 'No Answer Action' drop-down, select dmAnswers14 MessageDesk (3)
d) Click Save (4)
